When she gets talking, though, it is hard to stop her. She will talk about anything, but she is very careful to leave the Capitol and the games out of it. She is terrified of the Peacekeepers, and she's convinced they will rig the reaping if you talk bad about the Capitol. There are many things she is scared of, so she is very reserved. One of these things is her father, whom she thinks killed a young girl years ago.
She is very loyal and respectful, never setting one foot out of line. She feels better knowing she breaks none of the rules, she can't be punished. She has heard about people who steal from the harvest, but she doesn't want to hear who. Whenever someone is about to tell her, she runs away. If she doesn't know who did it, the Peacekeepers can't torture her until she tells.
History: Emma has two younger sisters; Fira and Ruby. Her mother left when she was nine, and she grew up with her father. She thinks he killed a girl when she was ten, but he didn't. He just tried to save her. The peacekeepers took him away for a few months, then brought him back. In those months, Emma had to take Fira, five, and Ruby, two, to the community home. She tried to stay strong, but it was hard. Her sisters welcomed her father back, but she had a hard time.
She has worked in the Fields since she was nine, and brought back a small paycheck. She tries to teach her sisters how to harvest, but they don't listen. Fira truly tries, but she can't focus. Emma is worried that they will never work in the Fields, and won't be able to survive. Her father always manages to cook a soup, and Emma doesn't know, but they all forage in the meadows, not the Fields, near the fence bordering the woods.
